Why Do I Love Jesus?

Why do I love Je­sus?

Because He first loved me

And gave Him­self a ran­som

From sin to set me free.

When all is bright about me

With hope and love and cheer

I feel and see the ha­lo of

My Sav­ior’s pre­sence near.

This is why

it is so sweet to know

That He guides and keeps me ev­er

For I love Him so.

Why do I love Je­sus?

When clouds are ga­ther­ing fast

When waves are break­ing o’er me

And storms are sweep­ing past

I stretch my hand to Je­sus

And lean up­on His might

And He so gent­ly

safe­ly

Leads me out in­to the light.

Why do I love Je­sus?

Because ’tis sweet to know

He guides and keeps me ev­er

Thro’ all my paths be­low;

And that some day—O rap­ture!

I’ll join the choir above

And sing with joy for­ev­er
