Whosoever Shall Call

lyricist: David Moxey, 1896
Composer: Ira Sankey

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord

Whosoever shall call

shall be saved;

O hear the glad message proclaimed in the Word

Three times from high Heaven ’tis waved.

Lord

I call

and I mean it; I call yet again;

I confess Thee my Savior and Lord;

As I do so

I’m saved! God says it; Amen!

I believe Him and rest on His Word.

Whosoever means me

whosoever means you

Whosoever means anyone here;

Then come unto Him with a penitent heart

And call on His name while He’s near.

But how shall I call

then? By faith with thy heart

Unto all who thus call He is nigh;

Nigh to bless

and to save

and His Spirit impart

And to calm with His love every sigh.

And when shall I call? Lo

the message is Now;

And when will He answer my cry?

The dying thief asked Him; the answer was Thou

E’en today shalt be with Me on high.

Redemption is finished—you’ve only to ask;

All the doing the Savior hath done;

Then believe

and receive what your Father bestows

Thro’ the wonderful gift of His Son.
