Under His Wings (Oatman)

lyricist: Johnson Oatman, Jr., 1900
Composer: Tali Esen Morgan, 1900

A wonderful promise God’s given

What joy to the Christian it brings;

That all who are striving for Heaven

Find refuge under His wings.

Under His wings abiding

Under His wings I’m hiding;

He with His mercy covers my soul

I’m hiding under His wings.

How often in dark nights of sorrow

My spirit to Him looks and sings

Because I find hope for the morrow

While resting under His wings.

And when I have need of refreshing

He leads me to life-giving springs;

And there I receive a great blessing

While shielded under His wings.

When

like all the ransomed immortals

My soul to that city He brings

I’ll find that those glorious portals

Are entered under His wings.
