It helps when temp­ta­tion sweeps ov­er my soul

And toss­ing is life’s rest­less sea

To know that my pi­lot has per­fect con­trol

And Je­sus is think­ing of me.

It helps me

when plea­sures would lead me as­tray

To know that the Sav­ior in love

Is ten­der­ly guid­ing me ov­er life’s way

And watch­ing from Heav­en ab­ove.

So on­ward I jour­ney in glad­ness to­day

Wherever my path­way may be;

I know that my Sav­ior is lead­ing the way

And Je­sus is think­ing of me.
