then th’in­tes­tine war is o’er

And guil­ty shame con­founds no more

When Thou hast root­ed out our pride:

With vain com­pla­cen­cy in grace

No more we boast our ho­li­ness

Or in our sin­less state con­fide;

Out of the deep of po­ver­ty

Savior

we give the praise to Thee

Thee on­ly good
