The Nail-Pierced Hands

lyricist: Charles Ambrester, 1925
Composer: Thomas Mosley

The One that was nailed to the cross for me

In mercy and love has answered my plea

And still He is calling to souls that roam

Inviting them all to His heavenly home.

The nail-piercèd hands of my Savior

Will lead us in light and in love;

By night and by day

He points out the way

To the heavenly home above.

O now thru a vision of tears I see

The One who once suffered anguish for me;

His hand is outstretched from the vaulted dome

To welcome His prodigal children back home.

How often I think of that nail-scarred hand

Still pointing the way to Heaven’s homeland;

And gladly I call unto all who roam

Inviting a start for the heavenly home.
