The Holy Bible

O thou sac­red Book—may thy light di­vine

With its heal­ing balm ’round the wide world shine!

May thy words of truth and thy ten­der grace

Be our com­fort in ev­ery place.

Word of God! Word of life!

As a rock thy truth shall stand;

Thro’ the storm and calm

Thou wilt keep us true

And will lead us to God’s right hand.

’Tis the herald of our sal­va­tion dear

For it bring­eth God’s lov­ing­kind­ness near;

In His grace we trust

in His love we live

And our wan­d’rings He doth for­give.

May we ev­er all Thy com­mand­ments keep

Filling all our hearts like a fount­ain deep

Flowing forth in­to ev­er­last­ing peace

Where the woes of the world shall cease.
