Our Fa­ther in Heav­en

the dear child­ren’s friend

We ask Thee up­on us Thy bless­ing to send;

And make us like Thee in Thy bright child­hood’s day

So pure

and so good

and obe­di­ent al­way.

hear us

Lord

hear us;

dear Fa­ther

we pray.

Dear kind

lov­ing Fa­ther

watch ov­er us all

For we are so young

and so weak

and so small;

Stretch out ov­er us Thy pro­tect­ing

strong arm

To keep us from sin

and from dan­ger and harm.

We ask Thee to watch us wher­ev­er we go

To be ev­er with us and help us to grow

In wis­dom and sta­ture and fa­vor with Thee

That Thy bless­èd child­ren we may al­ways be.
