The Bethlehem Star

In the east a won­drous star ap­peared

Long years ago;

And with hope the wait­ing wise men cheered

They their pro­mised king should know!

A bright­er than Beth­le­hem’s great star have we

Along our way;

Christ

the Morn­ing Star

our guide will be

To end­less day!

How the wise re­joiced to see the star

Above the stall;

And they

with their trea­sures from afar

Worshiped Christ

the Lord of all!

Star di­vine! It hailed the new­born Christ

Our Sav­ior

King!

On the cross His blood for all suf­ficed

Evermore His prais­es sing!
