That Dear Land

Composer: Elizabeth Emerson, 1898

There is a land so fair and sweet

And on its shores our loved ones meet

To sing its songs and praises o’er

And tell its love for evermore.

We shall wake

we shall wake in that morning

When the beauty of Christ shall be known;

We shall sing

we shall sing in that morning

Songs of glory and love and home.

In that dear land with mansions fair

We’ll every thought with Jesus share

And in His name be all complete

While singing praises glad and sweet.

All full of peace our lives shall be

And clearer truth each one shall see.

The perfect Guide doth lead us on

Our friend and teacher all in one.
