Let us be ten­der

and trus­ty

and true—

Here is a thought

dear­est child­ren

for you;

Where’er we go

and what­ev­er we do

Let us be ten­der

and trus­ty

Brave to the bat­tle of life we will go

Tender and trus­ty in all that we do;

Helpful

and thought­ful to all we will prove

Winning all hearts by our good­ness and love.

Children

I pray you to keep this in view;

Blessing each oth­er

our bless­ing we find

Therefore be help­ful

and thought­ful and kind.

Let us be cheer­ful

and hap­py as well

That all our life-serv­ice doub­ly may tell;

God loves the cheer­ful heart sing­ing its lay

Let us then joy­ous­ly keep on our way.
