In midst of our doubts

tri­bu­la­tions and tears

When close drawn to Je­sus

He qui­ets our fears.

And con­fi­dent trust in our God’s bless­èd Word.

His pro­mis­es pre­cious

all sweet and most choice

His co­ve­nant bless­ings

in these we re­joice;

On Je­sus our Sav­ior

with faith and with pray­er

How firm a foun­da­tion! we rest ful­ly there.

On home­ward

fast home­ward we go;

Our friends fond­ly loved we must leave here below;

But over the riv­er

in Heav­en so fair

On far bright­er shores

we shall meet them all there.
