Staying On the Pathway of Life

Lord Jesus

I love You

And I love Your dwelling.

You called me a “stone”

For Your building today.

God’s house is constructed

With stones that are living

So building the church

Is our growing this way.

Oh God of all grace

By Your ruling and breaking

Do strengthen me into

My spirit today.

Keep guarding my heart

With all vigilance taking

The pathway of life

In Your building to stay.

Lord

grant me a growth

In Your life

nothing hind’ring.

Don’t let any obstacles

In me remain.

Receiving Your cross

With its breaking and killing

Produce the good earth;

In my heart have Your way.

I’m often distracted

From Christ as the life-way;

Though zealous and active

Imprisoned He stays.

Ignoring His “No

”

I rebel

take my own way.

Subdue me to care for

Each word that You say.

Lord

make me someone

Who is fit for Your building.

By dealing severely

No hind’rance remain.

Your life grow within me

Till fully maturing

Your Bride shines in glory

For Your wedding day.
