Protect us in this hour

Of dread­ful strife;

When scoff­ing lips sur­round

And right­eous­ness con­found

When fear and hate abound

Be our strong tow­er.

Darkness ad­vanc­es apace:

See

bold­ly sin is praised

And good re­viled;

O give us hearts to fight

For ho­li­ness and right

Enabled by Your might

Wisdom and grace.

Protect our child­ren from ill

Be their de­fend­er still

Give them Your light;

Immerse them in Your Word

From them may truth be heard

Let them Your Spir­it gird

To do Your will.
