Send the Light (Bell)

Composer: William Bell, 1896

See now the waves that bathe the shores

Reflecting light the sun outpours;

So in all lands beneath the sun

The reign of day is now begun.

Send the light

Oh

send it on!

Till all lands take up the song;

See the suffering where they fall;

Hear

oh

hear

their pleading call.

The lands long dark by Satan’s night

Sadly await the coming light;

There millions sink in deadly dread

No pillow sure for dying head.

Too long the light have we withheld

Whose rays their night would have dispelled;

Speed on the day

the glorious day

Thro’ Christ

the Light

the Truth

the Way.
