Savior, I Am Coming Home

Composer: Wesley Hughes, 1898

I had wandered far from Jesus

On the mountains

sad and lone

But I heard the Spirit calling:

Savior

now I’m coming home.

Savior

I am coming home;

Full of sin and wounded sore

Let me lean upon Thy bosom

I will leave Thee nevermore.

I am poor

and weak

and sinful;

Earthly treasures I have none

But I know Thou wilt receive me

Savior

I am coming home.

All my guilt I come confessing

All my griefs to Thee make known;

Thou hast purchased my redemption

Savior

I am coming home.

Thou hast died for me

my Savior

For my sin Thou didst atone.

Wondrous thought: O love so boundless!

Savior

I am coming home.

When this mortal life is over

When the toils of earth are done

Let me rest with Thee

my Savior

In that blest

eternal home.
