Round the Throne in Glory

lyricist: Alfred Graley, 1865. Music R. A. Glenn, 1875

Round the throne in glory

Happy children throng

And redemption’s story

Wakes the harp and song.

On the verdant mountain

By the shining stream

O the living fountain

Jesus is their theme.

Round the throne in glory

Thousands of children stand

Singing with the angels

In that happy land

Voices sweetly blending

As they joyful sing

Glory be forever

To our heav’nly king.

Robes of snowy whiteness

Beautiful and rare;

Crowns of radiant brightness

Such those children wear.

Safe from death

bereavement

Sorrow and the grave;

Safe from sin’s enslavement

Victory’s palm they wave.

Children now sojourning

In a world of sin;

From your follies turning

Strive to enter in;

Let your young affections

Round your Savior twine

And ’mid Heav’n’s attractions

Ye shall sing and shine.
