Round the Cross

lyricist: Fanny Crosby, 1877
Composer: William Sherwin

Only trusting in my Savior

All to Him my soul would leave;

He has suffered to redeem me

And His Word I now believe.

Now to Christ alone I’m clinging

Tho’ the tempest round me blow;

Heeding not the clouds above me

Dreading not the waves below.

Only trusting

nothing doubting

This is all that I can do;

Every trial that befalls me

He will safely bring me thro’.

There are breakers in the distance

Yet no danger will I fear;

On the rock my feet are resting

Naught of harm can reach me there.

Only trusting

only trusting

This is joy and life to me;

Thou wilt never leave me friendless

While I cling

O Christ

to Thee.
