Rejoice! the Christ is ris­en

Who died that we might live;

His pro­mis­es are faith­ful—

The err­ing He’ll for­give.

The East­er bells are ring­ing

To wel­come this bright day

And hap­py child­ren sing­ing

Pour forth their glad­some lay.

Rejoice! the Lord vic­tor­ious

Has con­quered death and hell

And now He reigns most glor­ious

Our God Im­man­uel.

Rejoice! rej­oice! for­ev­er;

He doth our peace re­store;

His bless­ings are un­fail­ing

His love is ev­er­more.
