O Friend di­vine

To bless and break the pas­chal bread

And pour with thanks the wine.

Behind this rite which Love sup­plies

Our grate­ful souls dis­cern

The bo­dy of the sac­ri­fice

And pledge of Thy re­turn.

By faith par­tak­ing of the flesh

And the aton­ing blood

O let us feel the life afresh

Of our re­deem­ing Lord.
