O Spirit in the word

The Triune God expressed.

The richest Christ transfused

Receive by Spirit’s breath.

So let’s inhale Him…

O Word of God!

My spirit breathes

Your Spirit and life

Supply me forever

And make me a God-man complete.

The scripture God has breathed

So I must breathe it in.

Unveiling thus received

Convicting me within.

Such revelation…

The veils fall from my eyes

Myself I see

abhor.

Exposed I just confess

I’m crooked

wrong

and short.

The blood is washing…

Corrected

I’m restored

And made upright again.

The revelation yields

Sweet fruits of righteousness.

I love His shining…

Instructed in the light

From Christ’s enlight’ning word

Rebuilding over time

My heart by life restored.

He’s making home there…

O living Spirit-sword

Apply Yourself to me.

Pierce through

even divide

My soul and spirit freed.

So I can live You…

So take the word by prayer

The Spirit to apply

The foes and germs are slain

With flesh and self thereby.

To walk in newness…

So nourish me today

My Breath and living Bread.

Come live through me I pray

And soon come back again!

Yes

come Lord Jesus!
