O What Have I Done?

When the gold­en sun from my sight’s des­cend­ed

And I turn from earth and its cares away

Often to my mind comes the so­lemn quest­ion

O what have I done for the Lord to­day?

O what have I done to ad­vance His king­dom?

Have I sought one soul from the fold as­tray?

Have I sowed good seed

or been stand­ing idle?

O what have I done for the Lord to­day?

With my words and deeds I have bi­ased oth­ers;

How it fills my soul with un­told dis­may!

Tho’ I would re­call

they re­main for­ev­er;

O what have I done for the Lord to­day?

Have I hon­ored God with my earn­est ef­forts

Striving His com­mands ev­er to ob­ey?

Toiling in His name

prais­ing Him for bless­ings

O what have I done for the Lord tod­ay?
