O Lord of life

breathe Thou on me;

Unseal Thy living fount from me;

That from within Thou motivate

O Light of life

illuminate.

What wonder

Lord

Thou art in me;

I seek not heights nor depths for Thee

But in my spirit

instantly

Spirit I touch

no space from Thee.

Thou art my Advocate in heav’n

My spirit’s ointment

grace within;

All Thou before God dost for me

Is in my spirit touched by me.

Yet how unfaithful is my heart;

Oft deeply touched

I still depart;

Lord

visit

pity

breathe

inspire

My function to fulfill entire.

Lord

when my spirit’s drained and low

And can’t Your grace to others show

Then breathe upon me inwardly

That I be fully filled with Thee.
