O Beam divine

Trace us till we are whole.

Effulgent Ray

on us now shine;

Transform our bitter souls.

No more in right and wrong we’ll stay.

That tree

in us uproot!

Evil and good no more our way

Life flows! We bear light’s fruit!

Once darkness

we did walk in hate

Far from Your holy flame.

Light quelled sin’s gloom; our needs You sate

Born of Your radiant name

Not merely children of the day

But light itself—we rise!

Awake

o sleeper

from the dead:

Light shines! Light makes us Christ!

True Life in us

unconquerable

Each blow Christ can endure;

No storm

no hell

no tempter’s pull

Can shake Life’s power pure.

Our mortal life

Light’s tests expose

Its frailty laid so bare!

Our strength dissolves

but Christ bestows

A life beyond death’s snare.

As light reveals

Your life supplies

A pathway sure and bright.

From depths of love

we realize

Our growth is borne by light.

In light

no veil now hides Your face—

Our sight
