O bless­èd rest in Je­sus!

There’s no oth­er half so sweet

As the peace He free­ly gives me

When I tar­ry at His feet.

There I tell the sins that grieve me

And His tones like dew­drops fall;

Fear ye not

for I’ve re­deemed thee

There is cleans­ing for them all.

How it cheers me

day by day!

For He strength­ens me for du­ty

And for serv­ice

by the way.

And He tells me of the ci­ty

Where they need no star

no sun;

There He’ll give me joy­ful wel­come

When my earth­ly work is done.
