Not Ashamed to be a Christian

Everything seems to be a downward spiral

But I’m on an upward path;

Currents flow against me

still I keep on going.

Wond’ring if I’ll ever last

“Do not fear”—I hear the voice of my Christ Jesus:

“Just have faith

for I am the Lord.

All will pass

but what you have in you’s eternal.”

So I simply trust His word.

I am not ashamed to be a Christian!

I am not ashamed to love the Lord!

I am not afraid to stand up for Him no matter what I’m told!

The world can’t understand

But nonetheless I’ll stand;

Fire will only manifest the gold.

Though I feel like I’m the only one that’s different

In these cruel

crooked times

I will be the salt that kills the world’s corruption

And the light that brightly shines.

Lord

it seems like I’m the only one who’s standing;

Could it be

I’m left on my own?

“Worry not for I have set apart a remnant

Who

like you

seek Me alone.”

We are not ashamed to be Christians!

We are not ashamed to love the Lord!

We are not afraid to stand up for Him no matter what we’re told;

The world can’t see it now

But time will tell

somehow

Fire will only manifest the gold!
