My Soul for Thy Salvation Faints

lyricist: The Psalter, 1912
Composer: Michael Lonneke, 2005

My soul for Thy salvation faints

But still I hope in Thee;

I long to see Thy promised help

When Thou shalt comfort me.

Thy statutes I do not forget

Though wasting grief I know;

Thy servant’s days are few

O Lord:

When wilt Thou judge my foe?

The proud

disdainful of Thy law

Entrap me wrongfully;

O Thou

whose law is just and true

Help and deliver me.

Almost consumed

yet from Thy law

I have not turned away;

In lovingkindness give me strength

That I may still obey.
