send us forth to preach the Word

Wherever man is found;

Till every soul of Thee has heard

The whole wide world around.

O send to­day;

Baptize us with Thy might;

As her­alds speed us on our way

To those who grope for light.

send us forth as those who bear

Glad tid­ings from the throne;

With joy the mes­sage to de­clare

Till earth Thy sway shall own.

nor staff nor scrip

But on­ly in Thy might;

Thy Spir­it touch­ing heart and lip

To guide and keep aright.

send us forth

the faith sup­ply

The sow­ing time is ours;

Thine be the har­vest by and by

Beyond the gra­cious show­ers.
