Linger at the Cross

Let us lin­ger at the cross

’Tis the place of hum­ble pray­er

Where the soul ex­chang­es loss

For the gain it trea­sures there.

’Tis the place where Je­sus meets

All who come to seek re­lief

Bring your bur­den at His feet

He al­lays the deep­est grief.

Let us lin­ger at the fount

Whence the heal­ing wa­ters flow

And the peace up­on the mount

Where His full­ness we may know.

Where the glo­ry of His grace

And His pow­er of par­don meet

All who lin­ger at the place

All who bow at Je­sus’ feet.
