Keep close to the side of Je­sus

While the path of life you tread;

Resist all the world’s temp­ta­tions

And by Him be safe­ly led.

Keep close to the side of Je­sus

He’s a true and lov­ing friend;

Till you reach your jour­ney’s end.

Secure in the Sav­ior’s keep­ing

Naught of harm can you be­tide

And joy fills the soul that ev­er

In His pre­sence doth ab­ide.

Sweet peace from on high is giv­en

Unto those who day by day

Keep close to the bless­èd Je­sus

And His ho­ly will ob­ey.
