I Will Help Thee

I will help thee! hear the pro­mise

Of the One who reigns ab­ove;

Though I’m weak and hea­vy la­den

He will fill my heart with love.

Fear thou not

for I am with thee

I will hold thee by the hand

All along the pil­grim jour­ney

Safely to the Pro­mised Land.

Led by Him

and trust­ing ev­er

In His grace from day to day

I shall be se­cure from dan­ger

From Him I shall nev­er stray.

Keep me ev­er near Thee

Je­sus

With my hand en­closed in Thine;

Then

when du­ty calls

or dan­ger

I’ll not mur­mur nor re­pine.
