I Shall See Him When He Comes

lyricist: George Holt, 1912
Composer: William Kirkpatrick

I shall see Him when He comes in all His glory

And with all the holy angels in array;

With the saints all robed in light’s resplendent glory

When earth’s darkening clouds forever fade away.

I shall see Him when He comes

When He comes in all His glory

I shall know Him when I see Him face to face;

I shall listen while He tells

While He tells the sweet old story

How He planned to save lost sinners by His grace.

I shall see Him as He is and join the chorus

With the ransomed ones who sing around the throne;

O what joy to have His banner ever o’er us

In the land where sin and sorrow are unknown.

I shall see Him

and the sight will be most glorious

When His tender

loving eyes shall rest on me;

I shall see Him

O my soul

what heav’nly rapture!

In the glory of His presence e’er to be.
