I Know Him

It was Je­sus from be­gin­ning

Who de­vised sal­va­tion’s plan;

By His love

His blest com­pass­ion

He atoned for sin­ful man.

I know Him

O I know Him!

He was God in form of man;

I know Him

yes

I know Him

For He wrought re­demp­tion’s plan.

Full of ten­der­ness and pi­ty

In the gar­den He did bow;

Had men known the Lord of glo­ry

Thorns could ne’er have pricked His brow.

In His flesh our God did suf­fer

Hear them mur­mur Cru­ci­fy!

By His own was He for­sak­en

When He brought re­demp­tion nigh.

Jesus’ name to us is giv­en

He’s the true

the liv­ing way;

He’s the on­ly door to Heav­en

He is all our hope to­day.
