He Has Given Us His Promises

God’s great pow­er di­vine now has giv­en us

All we need for life and true god­li­ness

Through our know­ing Him who has call­èd us

And for His own glo­ry giv­en pro­mis­es.

He has giv­en us His pro­mis­es

Very great and pre­cious pro­mises

So we’ll be like Him

cleansed from all past sin.

our God has giv­en us His pro­mis­es.

To your faith add good­ness and know­ledge true

Then add self-con­trol

per­sev­er­ance

too.

Then add god­li­ness

kind­ness

then add

too

Love to all

con­firm­ing God’s great pro­mis­es.

If you have these traits in in­creas­ing store

They will keep you from un­pro­duct­ive lore.

You’ll ef­fect­ive be know­ing Christ our Lord

Because God has giv­en us His pro­mis­es.

Any per­son lack­ing these qua­li­ties

Is near­sight­ed

blind

and he does not see.

He’s for­got­ten he from his sin is free

And that God has giv­en us His pro­mis­es.

So be ea­ger now; make your call­ing sure.

If you do these things

you will fall no more.

You’ll be wel­comed rich­ly by Christ our Lord

And gain His king­dom

through His pro­mis­es.
