Give me a drink!

lyricist: P. L.
Composer: P. L.

Every day I would walk to this same

same old well

Hoping all of my thirst it’d quell.

Yet each time I would still find

Myself sore

wanting but more—

This water did not satisfy.

Then I heard of a spring that would never run dry

(For contentment my heart did cry!):

“Whoso drinks shall by no means

Ever thirst; in him will burst

A fountain of life divine!”

Give me a drink!

For this water I would sing!

I am filled

my thirst’s stilled.

My heart sings again:

Give me a drink!

There’s a fount of life in me!

All I know

it just flows

Flowing deep within.

I discovered that spring was the Lord Jesus Christ—

He died for me and He’s alive!

Of my sins I was forgiv’n

But much more He had in store—

His very own life to give!

Where then does He give life? Well the Bible tells:

In my spirit where Jesus dwells!

Raised from death

He became breath

Water too

even true food—

He’s processed to live in me!

Christ lives in me

As the Spirit reaching me!

This my song

all day long:

Life is flowing free!

He’s flooding me

As a river ceaselessly!

This my God

to me brought:

The processed Trinity!

If you haven’t yet found what your heart’s looking for

Come and listen to His own word:

“Whoso drinks shall by no means

Ever thirst; in him will burst

A fountain of life divine!”

Come

oh come see this man! Is He not the Christ?

He came that you would have His life!

Just believe

then you will see

He’s so real

living

and free—

A genuine prayer’s the way:

Christ lives in me

As the Spirit flowing free!

Yes

in me! I believe!

Take a drink and see!

Christ lives in you!

He’s the living water true!

We’re filled with Him to the brim

For eternity!

(repeat chorus)
