Faith Discerns a Country

Faith dis­cerns a coun­try bright­er than day

It is free from earth­ly sor­row and care;

With my jour­ney ended and my bat­tle won

I shall rest in man­sions built ov­er there.

Over there! Ov­er there! When my work here is done

I shall go to that land so beau­ti­ful and fair;

Over there! Ov­er there! O I long for the joy

And the peace of the home ov­er there.

Just be­yond the river flow­ing so still

Through the sha­dows veil­ing time’s sol­emn shore

Lies the land eter­nal where re­deemed ones dwell

And where blight of ev­il comes nev­er­more.

In the light that shin­eth there from the face

Of the bless­èd Sav­ior I shall abide;

Through the end­less ag­es saved by His shed blood

I shall in His pre­sence be sa­tis­fied.
