Even I May Be Saved

Composer: Frank Wilder, 1907

I have wandered so long

Midst the pleasures of earth

Spread around me in dazzling array;

But a still voice divine

Speaks to this heart of mine

Bidding me to turn back today.

And I may be saved

even I may be saved

Oh

what mercy

Lord

how can it be?

Jesus suffered and died

On the cross crucified

Just to save a poor sinner like me.

Shall I list to that voice

Shall I turn from the way

That my footsteps have followed so long?

Still He tenderly calls

Come

oh

come unto Me

All ye weary of sin and wrong.

Can it be that my life

Can be made pure and clean

By the blood shed on Calvary’s tree?

But His promise is plain

He will cleanse every stain

From the heart that accepts His plea.

Jesus

come to me now

Take me just as I am

All my sin

all my will I resign;

To be guided by Thee

Is sufficient for me

Just to know that Thy love is mine.
