Coming Judgment

Composer: Kelso Carter, 1886

O

the rocks and the mountains shall all flee away

When Jesus comes to judgment the last great day;

And no refuge can shelter

no covert can hide

The soul that hath rejected the Crucified.

Sinner

sinner

plunge in the crimson flood!

There’s pardon

peace

and cleansing beneath the blood.

Sinner

sinner

plunge in the crimson flood!

There’s pardon

peace

and cleansing beneath the blood.

In the world there’s no pleasure can ever endure

The moments are so fleeting

there’s nothing sure;

For we fade as a leaf

and our time’s but a breath

The Lord hath said the wages of sin is death.

In the blood there is cleansing without and within

And Jesus breaks the power of canceled sin;

He keeps us and saves us to the uttermost

Baptizes us with fire and the Holy Ghost.
