Come Let Us Sing of Heaven

lyricist: D. E. Goodhart, 1874
Composer: J. H. Leslie

Come let us sing of Heaven

That glorious home above;

Where Jesus reigns forever

And all is light and love;

Where golden harps are ringing

In sweet melodious lays

And angel choirs are singing

Their songs of grateful praise.

Come let us sing of Heaven

That happy land so fair

Beyond death’s gloomy river

No sorrow enters there;

Within the shining portals

The saints and angels meet;

They cast their crowns of glory

Beneath the Savior’s feet.

They praise the God of Heaven

Their sovereign they adore;

Their hymns of loud hosannas

Shall ring forevermore–

And when we reach that haven

Of our immortal rest

We’ll join the heav’nly chorus

And be forever blest.
