won­drous words that Je­sus spake

To thirs­ty souls

a sweet re­frain;

Who drinks the draught that I shall give

Shall nev­er thirst again.

drink of the wa­ter

Come drink of the wa­ter of life;

Who drinks of the wa­ter that Christ shall give

Shall nev­er­more thirst

but ev­er­more live;

Come drink of the wa­ter of life.

Wondrous the words

more won­drous still

That pro­mise doth for us re­main

And we may of the wa­ter drink

And nev­er thirst again.

Ye souls athirst for life and peace

Let not this mes­sage come in vain;

But quick­ly take the cleans­ing draught

And nev­er thirst again.
