Clinging to the cross so pre­cious

Trusting in the Sav­ior’s name;

Fearlessly His bless­èd sto­ry

To the lost of earth pro­claim.

I am trust­ing all to Thee;

Clinging to the cross of Cal­va­ry

Where Thy blood was shed for me!

To the cross of Cal­va­ry cling­ing

Peace and rap­ture all may know;

For on those who come be­liev­ing

Precious bless­ings He’ll be­stow.

Clinging to the cross for re­fuge

When the tem­pest rag­es wild;

Jesus in His great com­pas­sion

Keeps from harm each low­ly child.

Clinging to the cross till ev­en

When my vi­gil shall be o’er;

And I go to dwell for­ev­er

On the shin­ing heav’n­ly shore.
