ye bells of Christ­mas day

The sin from earth shall pass away;

Awake

ye shep­herds now to greet

This hal­lowed morn

so glad

so sweet;

For lo! to earth a king has come

Who left for us His star­ry home.

And tell the world of Christ

our king.

O Beth­le­hem! thou beau­ti­ful!

In fair Ju­dea’s lone­ly vale

Thou gav­est to the world a king

Whose prais­es worlds on worlds shall sing.

Let ev­ery heart its hom­age pay

To Christ our king

this Christ­mas day.
