Christ Is Near Me

When the waves of time sweep o’er me

I shall nev­er be dis­mayed

For my Sav­ior goes be­fore me

And He says

Be not afraid.

Christ is near me

He will cheer me

Whatsoe’er my lot may be;

He will guide me

keep and hide me

’Neath His wings

’neath His wings eter­nal­ly.

When the cares of life sur­round me

Christ each hea­vy bur­den bears;

Since thro’ love He sought and found me

Every grief He free­ly shares.

When the way seems rough and drea­ry

Jesus gent­ly takes my hand

And He whis­pers

“Come

ye wea­ry

Just be­yond is Beu­lah Land.”
