Christ Is Kind and Tender

Ere the tide of life is ebb­ing

Ere its sands are run­ning low

Turn we now to Christ our Sav­ior

That His peace we here may know.

Christ is ev­er kind and ten­der

He will guard us

He will save;

Let us nev­er from Him wan­der

For His life for us He gave.

Then

dear Shep­herd

close en­fold us

In Thy con­stant

lov­ing care;

We are poor

and weak

and sin­ful

Keep us safe from ev­ery snare.

Death may dai­ly watch our foot­steps

Life may swift­ly steal away

But we know our God will guide us

Through the night to end­less day.
