Blood-Bought

Composer: D. C. Addison, 1877

I have a home at last

’Twas bought by blood divine

Safe from the stormy blast

And the blest title mine.

Blood paid for every stone

For roof

and nail and door;

There death is never known

But life for evermore.

These emblems mark the wall—

The cross

the nails

the spear;

Five bleeding wounds in all

Show me the title clear.

On Calvary ’twas paid

Each drop to Justice due;

And Love divine there laid

The price for me and you.

Blood-bought

I stand secure

Since Jesus died for me;

Blood-bought

redemption sure

If I but cling to Thee.

Washed in this blood divine

In glory to appear;

Like Him forever shine

His welcome voice to hear.
