Are you look­ing for a friend

One who will your life de­fend

A friend in­deed

whose love is deep and true;

There is one close by your side

And with you He would con­fide

He is wait­ing to re­lieve

And com­fort you.

This friend is Je­sus

He died on the cross to save you from sin;

This friend who will keep to the end

This won­der­ful friend is Je­sus.

Are you look­ing for a friend

One on whom you can de­pend

A friend who stand­eth true when oth­ers fail;

You will find the Lord

in­deed

Is a friend in ev­ery need

And He bids you have the faith

On Him to call.

He’s the dear­est in the world

For when hu­man lips are curled

He’s pre­cious

oh

so pre­cious

day by day

And He’s wait­ing now for you

For your heart and serv­ice

too;

Will you take Him as your friend

While now you may?
