Already Condemned

lyricist: Fanny Crosby, 1888
Composer: Francis Blackmer

God so loved the world

that in mercy He gave

His Son as a ransom

lost sinners to save;

O thou who hast never believed on His name

Remember the truth that the Scriptures proclaim:

Condemned! Condemned! already condemned!

On Jesus the Savior thou hast not believed;

Condemned! Condemned! already condemned!

The life that He offers thou hast not received.

Already condemned in the sight of the Lord

Because thou art turning away from His Word;

Thou choosest the evil

rejectest the right;

Thou lovest the darkness far better than light.

Already condemned

unbeliever

thou art;

O think what a sentence hangs over thy heart;

Yet why wilt thou perish when thou canst be free?

If thou wilt accept it

there’s pardon for thee.

Already condemned; wilt thou turn from thy sin?

Then yield to the Spirit now pleading within;

Thro’ faith and repentance give Jesus thy heart;

Delay not a moment

but come as thou art.
