All Must at Length Be Tried

lyricist: Baptist Noel, 1853
Composer: Cologne, Germany, 1619

All must at length be tried

The dead from dust arise;

Nor one of all earth’s millions hide

From Christ’s all seeing eyes.

How will the faithless meet

The terrors of that day

When Heav’n and earth before His seat

Astonished shrink away?

O sinner

seek His face

Whose wrath you cannot bear;

Welcome His yoke

accept His grace

And find salvation there.

So will you bless the hour

When for your sake He bled;

And that last awful day shall pour

New blessings on your head.
