Again We Meet in Gladness

Again we meet in glad­ness

And raise the tune­ful song;

Nor shade of care or sad­ness

Broods o’er our hap­py throng.

Within Thy house we ga­ther

On this sweet day of rest

And pray Thee

O our Fa­ther

In bless­ing make us blest.

For mer­cies all so ten­der

For good­ness ev­er free

We now devout­ly ren­der

Our prais­es

Lord

to Thee;

For truth so bright­ly beam­ing—

For Christ

the sin­ner’s friend

Whose love

a world re­deem­ing

Shall nev­er

nev­er end.

For Ho­ly Spir­it

seek­ing

Our way­ward hearts to win

For voice with­in us speak­ing

When led to doubt or sin—

For bliss we may in­her­it

When this brief life is o’er

Thee

Fa­ther

Son

and Spir­it

We grate­ful­ly ad­ore.

In each un­known to­mor­row

Mark out for us the way;

And lead

through joy or sor­row

To realms of end­less day.

With loved ones gone be­fore us

There may we join to raise

The hal­le­lu­jah chor­us

Of nev­er end­ing praise.
