’Tis good

be­yond all oth­er good

To dai­ly live in pray­er

To rear an al­tar to our God

And meet re­joic­ing there.

No nob­ler

no more cheer­ing sight

In this dark world we see

Than when a house­hold all unite

In fer­vent pi­ety.

The Christ­ian’s heart is Je­sus’ throne

His home is Je­sus’

too

He is not left an hour alone

But still in Je­sus’ view.

Sweet home where fel­low­ship divine

The soul with grace sup­plies

Such home

O God

be ev­er mine

And mine such hal­lowed joys.
